چکیده

Currently, the two main approaches to realistic facial animation are 1) blendshape models and 2) physics-based simulation. Blendshapes are fast and directly controllable, but it is not easy to incorporate features such as dynamics, collision resolution, or incompressibility of the flesh. Physics-based methods can deliver these effects automatically, but modeling of muscles, bones, and other anatomical features of the face is difficult, and direct control over the resulting shape is lost. We propose a method that combines the benefits of blendshapes with the advantages of physics-based simulation. We acquire 3D scans of a given actor with various facial expressions and compute a set of volumetric blendshapes that are compatible with physics-based simulation, while accurately matching the input scans. Furthermore, our volumetric blendshapes are driven by the same weights as traditional blendshapes, which many users are familiar with. Our final facial rig is capable of delivering physics-based effects such as dynamics and secondary motion, collision response, and volume preservation without the burden of detailed anatomical

Generating Motion Capture Data for Arbitrary Rigs

As motion capture techniques become more advanced and accessible, motion capture data has become an increasingly popular source of efficient, realistic animation. The process of motion capture involves placing markers on an actor’s body and recording movement data for each marker. This data can then be mapped onto a digital human skeleton, called a rig, which consists of joints (e.g. hips, elbo...

Easy Rigging of Face by Transfer of Skinning Parameters

Preparing a facial mesh to be animated requires a laborious manual rigging process. The rig specifies how the input animation data deforms the surface and allows artists to manipulate a character. We present a method that automatically rigs a facial mesh based on Radial Basis Functions (RBF) and linear blend skinning approach. Our approach transfers the skinning parameters (feature points and t...

A new approach for building recommender system using non negative matrix factorization method

Nonnegative Matrix Factorization is a new approach to reduce data dimensions. In this method, by applying the nonnegativity of the matrix data, the matrix is decomposed into components that are more interrelated and divide the data into sections where the data in these sections have a specific relationship. In this paper, we use the nonnegative matrix factorization to decompose the user ratin...

The PRODIGY User Interface

The PRODIGY user interface supports the process of both building and running a planning domain in PRODIGY. It was designed to be highly modular, requiring no changes to the code of the PRODIGY planner to run, and extensible, so that interfaces to other modules built on PRODIGY could easily be integrated into the interface. In this paper we describe how these goals were achieved. We demonstrate ...
